Students at Texas Tech don’t know who won Civil War

It’s no wonder America is in the shape it’s in right now.  A video posted to Facebook on Monday shows just how little college students know about basic U.S. history.

When asked, students were unable to say who won the Civil War or when it was fought.

One student thought the South won.  Another student thought the Civil war was fought in 1965.

Two others didn’t even know who fought the Civil War.

“I’m drawing a blank,” another student said.

Worse yet, one student thought the Confederates won the Civil War.

Only one student in the video got the right answer.  Students were also unable to name the vice president and unable to say who the U.S. got its independence from, but were able to answer questions about celebrities.
