“Right now I like John Kasich, the governor of Ohio,” the retired basketball star said on ESPN’s “Mike & Mike Show” Wednesday. “He’s the only person that I’m really paying attention to right now, to be honest with you.”
Barkley said he usually votes for Democrats, but lately has been considering switching allegiances.
“Ninety-nine percent of the time I vote Democrat, but there’s not a Democrat in the race that I like,” Barkley replied. “I would like to see [U.S. Sen.] Elizabeth Warren or the mayor of San Antonio. Those are the only two Democrats that I would vote for.”
He said that in general, Democrats were more “open-minded.”
The NBA hall-of-famer and TNT commentator said this wasn’t a final decision.
