A Memphis woman is charged with abuse after an accident that left a child critically injured.
A witness said she saw a car driving back and forth at a high rate of speed in a parking lot Wednesday night on Mud Island with several children on the roof.
The same witness said she saw the car drive up the ramp to leave the park, when an 8-year-old boy fell off and hit his head on the pavement.
Another witness said it took the driver several minutes to stop the car and pick up the boy who was, “lifeless and limp.”
“You don’t understand, I wish I didn’t see it. That’s how messed up it would have your right now,” said Kearron Wilson. “I was praying to God she would slow down when she got to that hill, but she didn’t. She pressed on the gas.”
Police located Marnica Cooper at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital with five children, one of whom had a critical injury to his head.
