[Ed. – OK, so at least it was an orphaned lamb.]
Most people’s encounter with a little lamb on Easter Sunday will be on a plate alongside the peas, new potatoes and mint sauce.
But when David Cameron came across this newborn member of the flock on a farm in his Witney constituency, he decided to get make friends with it. Taking a break from kissing babies on the campaign trail, the Prime Minister snuggled up to the lamb, even planting a smacker on its nose.
Mr Cameron was visiting Dean Lane farm, in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, where he mucked in giving bottles to orphaned lambs.
