Suspect in abduction of UVa. captured in Texas

The man wanted in the disappearence of a University of Virginia student from Alexandria has been captured in Texas, police announced Wednesday.

Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Long said Jesse Matthew was arrested in Galveston, Texas, and is awaiting extradition.

Police are still looking for 18-year-old sophomore Hannah Graham who was last seen Sept. 13, leaving a downtown Charlottesville bar with Matthew.

Investigators will head to Galveston tomorrow.“We’re asking everyone within the sound of my voice to help find Hannah Graham,” Longo said. “We have a man in custody, but there is a long road ahead of us.”

Matthew, 32, was last seen speeding away from state troopers Saturday afternoon after showing up at the Charlottesville police station.
