Tweet of the day: Schlock and awe (shucks)

Early this morning, the U.S. and its coalition partners carried out the first of its air strikes on ISIS in Syria. CNN reports:

Tomahawk missiles launched from the sea began the strikes against the Sunni Muslim extremists, followed by bombers and fighters.

[…]

The bombing has focused on the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa, a city in northern Syria. ISIS has had control of Raqqa for more than a year, imposing its brutal interpretation of Islamic law on the city’s residents.

So, is the game about to change? Are the terrorists on the verge of sampling America’s wrath? Judge for yourself. The tweet below contains companion photos of an ISIL financial center in Raqqa. The photo on the left shows the building before the missiles struck. The photo on the right shows the “damage.”

What’s that — you can’t tell the difference? Look closer. The strike took out a swimming pool on the roof of the building in the foreground. If you don’t think that concerns ISIS, think again. Now, when the terrorists want to swim laps to keep in shape, they’re going to have to shlep over to the YMMA (Young Men’s Muslim Association). That blows bigtime.

And to think, military leaders have been skeptical about Obama’s insistence that the war “operation” be carried out without a single boot on the ground.
