BREAKING: Eric Holder rushed to D.C. hospital for ‘chest pains’

Attorney General Eric Holder has been rushed to a D.C. hospital after experiencing chest pains.

He was taken to Washington Hospital Center shortly around 9.30am  after experiencing shortness of breath.

He is said to be alert and conscious but there have not been any statements about when he is expected to be released.

His office put out a statement saying that Holder is ‘resting comfortably and in good condition’. The 63-year-old father-of-three is said to be talking with doctors currently.

The problems arose during his daily meeting with senior staff in their office at the Justice Department before being taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center which is about a 10 minute drive away. 

He was scheduled to be at a White House event this afternoon but that now seems unlikely.

Holder is a close confidante of President Obama’s and has been the country’s top lawyer since 2008.

He has reportedly said that he never planned on staying in the position for both of the President’s terms, but he has never indicated that he has any intention of stepping down.
