Woman who died in Capitol rampage had ‘everything to live for’

A disturbed dental hygienist from Connecticut, with a baby in her back seat, plowed her car into a White House barricade Thursday, then led cops on a chase that ended with them fatally shooting her outside the Capitol, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

Miriam Carey, 34, who grew up in Brooklyn, had a history of mental illness, but friends said she seemed happy in recent months and showed no warning signs that she was about to crack.

“She loved being a mother, which doesn’t make sense,” family friend Yolando Napoleon, 40, said outside Carey’s old East New York home.

“She had everything going for her. A beautiful baby, a man helping her with her baby, a job making 100K per year. Her child was her everything.”
