The next, and third, generation in the Bush political dynasty is making its Washington debut, a first stop in what many believe could eventually lead to a House, Senate and even presidential bid by George P. Bush.
The son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, George P. is the headliner Thursday at a Washington fundraiser for family friend and first-term Texas Rep. Roger Williams. He’s dubbed a “special guest” on the invitation of the lawmaker known for his humorous 2012 campaign video called “The Donkey Whisperer.”
George P. first hit the national stage when he was 12, speaking at the 1988 GOP nominating convention of his grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush. The 37-year-old is currently running for Texas land commissioner, a powerful position in the Lone Star State.
