A Northumberland County bail bondsman already charged with bigamy is now accused of lying when he applied for a license to marry one of the women.
Christopher I. Hauptmann, 43, of Shamokin, also has been definitely identified through fingerprints as Christopher Edward Buckley, who has a felony drug conviction in New Jersey, chief county Detective Degg H. Stark said.
The new charges against Hauptmann are two counts of unsworn falsification to authorities and one count of tampering with public records.
Authorities say that when he applied Sept. 1, 2016, in the Northumberland County recorder’s office for a license to marry Kaylee Paige Durovick, 18, he wrote that he had not been married previously.
The arrest documents reveal Hauptmann had been married and divorced from a woman who told Stark she had been married to Christopher Buckley.
Their divorce was final last June or July, the arrest affidavit states.
By then Hauptmann was married to Shannon Deitrich, mother of the Kaylee Durovick, according to court documents. Deitrich told Stark she married Hauptmann in Florida in November 2015.
