A Chandler teenager who allegedly took part in the vandalism of a Valley family’s menorah around the holidays is asking for forgiveness.

“I am truly sorry for the insensitive prank which my friends and I participated in during the holiday season last December. What we did was reckless, stupid, idiotic, and insensitive. From the bottom of my heart I apologize to your family,” Clive Wilson said in part in a public Facebook post.

The 19-year-old was arrested with three other suspects, all juveniles, on March 17. Chandler Police say all four were processed into jail, but released pending charges submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

The arrest comes after a months-long investigation into the vandalism of a family’s eight-foot tall PVC pipe Jewish menorah structure. The menorah was moved to look like a swastika at some point during the early morning hours of December 30, 2016.

Police say the four suspects identified will be charged with first-degree criminal trespassing and aggravated criminal damage.
