To find out why [Kaepernick’s] phone isn’t ringing, Bleacher Report contacted an AFC general manager who shared his thoughts.
There’s not a simple answer to the question, as the unidentified GM noted. Some teams just don’t think he can play, and others flat-out don’t like him after his anthem controversy last season. But there’s another group of front-office members with another interesting take.
“Some teams fear the backlash from fans after getting him. They think there might be protests or [President Donald] Trump will tweet about the team,” the GM said. “I’d say that number is around 10 percent. Then there’s another 10 percent that has a mix of those feelings.”
