Disgraced journalist Dan Rather, who was forced out at CBS for a failed effort to take down then-President George W. Bush, on Wednesday warned that the resignation of Mike Flynn could be bigger than the Watergate scandal. Rather, who used phony documents in an infamous report for CBS, assailed, “The White House has no credibility on this issue. Their spigot of lies – can’t we finally all agree to call them lies – long ago lost them any semblance of credibility.”
Writing on Facebook, Rather continued, “I would also extend that to the Republican Congress, who has excused away the Trump Administration’s assertions for far too long.” With no sense of self awareness, Rather declared, “We need an independent investigation. Damn the lies, full throttle forward on the truth.”
It should be pointed out that this is the same person who told Bill O’Reilly in 2001: “I think at core [Bill Clinton is] an honest person…. I think you can be an honest person and lie about any number of things.”
Earlier in the Facebook post, Rather worried that Watergate could pale in comparison to Trump’s “lies”….
