What time will the Electoral College vote occur?

If you were thinking that the Electoral College vote was scheduled for this hour or that, you were probably picturing the Electoral College as a discrete building where the electors meet and cast their votes. In fact, the vote takes place throughout the day, though by 3 o’clock, the nation will have a pretty firm idea of whether there were any surprises.

Barring those, it is expected that Donald Trump will be elected as the nation’s 50th president.

Here is the complete schedule. By press time, 11:30 a.m., some ten states had already cast their ballots, and one more, Kentucky — which scheduled its vote for 11:45 a.m. — will vote presently. One other state, Arizona, has yet to determine its vote time.
