School sends home permission slip for reciting the Pledge of Allegiance

In what is perhaps the latest example of the downfall of American culture and civics, one Florida public school has taken to sending a permission slip home to parents during the first week of school notifying parents that they can request for their child to not participate in the daily “Pledge of Allegiance.”

This image was shared by Micah Brienen … and it has since gone viral, reaching thousands and causing quite the stir on social media. He was understandably shocked and outraged that this was what our nation had come to saying, “My niece brought this home from school today… What is happening to our country?!?” Later he wrote, “The Pledge of Allegiance opt out waiver is part of the Leon County Student Handbook in Tallahassee, Florida….
