Two more police shot, by man with ‘negative feelings towards law enforcement’

Law enforcement have captured a suspect who shot two a police chief and a deputy in Sebastian County this morning, according to Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck.

Hackett Police Chief Darrell Spells and Sebastian County Deputy Bill Cooper were identified as two people shot. Chief Spells had “superficial wounds,” said Sheriff Hollenbeck.

Hackett Police Chief Darrell Spells is expected to recover and will be “OK,” Sebastian County Judge David Hudson told 40/29 News.

There is no confirmed word on the condition of Deputy Bill Cooper.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as Billy Jones of Greenwood. He was described as having negative feelings towards law enforcement.

Billy Jones was barricaded inside his home, according to Phillip Peevehouse with the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department.
