A 12-year-old boy has been arrested over the attempted rape of a 76-year-old woman.
The boy allegedly broke into the elderly woman’s property in Coconut Grove, a northern suburb in the city of Darwin, on Monday at around 7.30pm.
The woman had to be taken to hospital to receive treatment for a cut on her arm after the boy allegedly ‘stabbed’ her.
‘The laceration on the elderly woman’s arm was caused by him stabbing the female victim using an object from inside the house,’ a spokesperson for Northern Territory police told Daily Mail Australia.
The 12-year-old has since appeared in court charged with six offences.
Police charged the boy with unlawful entry with an intent to commit an offence, aggravated assault, gross indecency, attempted sexual intercourse without consent….
