Democratic operatives responsible for creating the party’s 2016 campaign platform have adopted a draft provision demanding that the federal government nix the traditional practice of tipping at restaurants when service is remotely tolerable and instead institute wages for waiters and waitresses.

“Sub-minimum” earnings “for tipped workers” must stop, the final draft of the 2016 Democratic platform declares.

The draft platform “calls for the elimination of the ‘tipped’ wage,” reiterated senior Clinton campaign policy advisor Maya Harris, according to a press release sent to The Daily Caller by Restaurant Opportunities Centers United.

The Democratic platform draft also proclaims that “Americans should earn at least $15 an hour” and “the minimum wage should be raised and indexed.”
