Kansas Board of Ed. votes unanimously to ignore federal bathroom edict

[Ed. – The good news could be better, since the state basically just punted to the local boards.  That leaves the local districts vulnerable to federal extortion, unless the state — the governor and legislature — steps in to protect them.]

In a unanimous vote, Kansas State Board of Education members decided to ignore a federal directive that all public schools allow transgender students to use restrooms and lockerooms that match their gender identity instead of thier biological gender.

KSHB-TV reports, after recieving a presentation on the federal Title IX requirements are, the board decided to defer to the regulations of local Kansas school districts. …

The board reached the consensus that the guidence from the Dept. of Education was an overreach of authority.
