Brother of Brussels bomber to compete in Brazil Olympics

The brother of one of the Brussels suicide bombers is headed to Rio.

Mourad Laachraoui is set to compete in 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil after winning gold for Belgium at the European Taekwondo Championships on Friday, Reuters reported.

Laachraoui’s older brother, Najim, was one of the men who blew themselves up at the Brussels Airport in March as part of a set of terrorist attacks that left 32 dead.

Laachraoui took the top prize in the Under-54kg category in Montreux, Switzerland, beating out 18-year-old Jesus Tortosa of Spain.

The 21-year-old is set to compete August 5 in Rio De Janeiro.
