In March 2014, LU carried a piece containing an animated graphic that showed in real time the rapidly rising population of the world and, closer to home, the U.S. You’re also probably familiar with the national debt clock, which continually updates the amount of money owed by the U.S. to its creditors. (As of this writing, the amount is $18.4 trillion and counting.)
Now a company called Lucify has come out with an animated graphic of the European continent that shows, again in real time, the influx of asylum seekers (aka refugees), where they are coming from, and where they are headed.
