If Ahmed Mohamed had shown genuine scientific aptitude — had actually invented something and not just created a public spectacle that got blown out of proportion by the liberal media — Barack Obama probably wouldn’t have had the time of day for the kid in the first place. But as Mohamed is Muslim and as his arrest for bringing to school what some assumed to be a bomb, Obama couldn’t wait for a face-to-face meeting. He even tweeted quicker than you could say, “The Irving (Texas) Police acted stupidly”:
Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great.

So when the Dallas Morning News glumly reported yesterday that there would be no meeting between the president and his newest protégé, you had to know the paper was wrong. Sure, the article quoted press secretary Josh Earnest as saying, “I don’t believe the president will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Ahmed Mohamed. After all there are several hundred people who are planning to participate.” But what does he know?
Granted, the meeting was brief, amounting to little more than a handshake and an exchange of pleasantries, but happen it did. Here is photographic evidence:
Of course, young Mohamed has been making the celebrity circuit since he initially made headlines, meeting with world leaders far more influential than Obama. Here’s another photo op showing the 14-year-old getting chummy with his other BFF, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, who has been accused of war crimes and orchestrating genocide. But what’s a little inhumanity among friends?
