Million-man March speaker chants ‘Down, down, USA’

A female Native American speaker led a crowd in a chant of “down, down USA” at the Million Man March in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

In her speech, the woman claimed that former Libyan dictator Muammar “Gaddafi is still alive” and called on President Obama to pardon Leonard Peltier, a Native American activist who was convicted of murdering two FBI officers in 1975. …

At one point the woman held up what appeared to be a flag of the Black Panther group.

The woman made her remarks following a speech from Chief Ernie Longwalker of the Red Wind Nation, who was unhappy about his speech being cut short.

“They’re telling me to stop,” he said. “We’ve given you 500 years. You only give us about five minutes.”
