Tweet of the Day: Ted Nugent quips ‘If Obama’s a Christian, then I’m …’

I read somewhere yesterday that the audience member at the Trump rally in New Hampshire Thursday who claimed Barack Obama is a Muslim was a plant, designed to make Trump look bad with his fan base. Without further evidence to back up that assertion, it falls into the realm of conspiracy theory. So does the claim that Obama is a Muslim, though if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and so on.

I mean, seriously, let’s not forget that the guy dredged up mention of the Crusades and the Inquisition at a prayer breakfast (of all places!) last February to blunt criticism of the Islamic State, which he insisted, moreover, is not Islamic. And he continued to make the same protestation even after the terrorist organization tweeted “a message signed with blood” to “the nation of the cross” several days after Obama’s impassioned defense.

But back to Trump and his questioner: If you think the left wasn’t already sufficiently apoplectic over questions of their dear leader’s faith — not to mention Trump’s refusal to set the speaker straight — the real fireworks are about to begin, ignited by a series of tweets in close succession made yesterday by musician and Obama detractor Ted Nugent:
