Man arrested for throwing hot coffee at Westboro Baptist Church protesters outside Beau Biden’s funeral

Protesters from the notorious Westboro Baptist Church were doused with hot coffee Saturday while they picketed the funeral of Beau Biden in Delaware, they said.

An unidentified man was arrested for throwing his cup of joe at demonstrators who were packing up after they sang anti-gay songs and held up hateful signs for about an hour ahead of Vice President Joe Biden’s son’s sendoff, the Delaware News Journal reported.

The controversial Kansas church, known for protesting at military funerals with hate-filled, anti-gay messages, sent three members to picket outside Wilmington’s St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, where the Vice President and thousands had gathered in mourning.

“Joe Biden has enraged the LORD his God, such that His judgments are upon Biden and his family in wrath,” the Westboro Baptist Church wrote on its website announcing its planned protest.
