Interpol adds six soccer officials indicted by US to its most wanted list

Interpol put six people with ties to FIFA, international soccer’s governing body, on its most wanted list Wednesday, issuing an international alert for two former top FIFA officials and four former sports marketing and broadcasting executives indicted by the Justice Department.

The so-called “Red Notices” announced Wednesday were for former FIFA vice president Jack Warner of Trinidad and former executive committee member Nicolas Leoz of Paraguay.

Warner, a former president of North America’s soccer confederation, left FIFA in 2011 to avoid being implicated in another bribery case. Earlier this week, it was revealed that $10 million transferred by FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke was paid into accounts controlled by Warner.
