If the males in your office come to work wearing (harumph!) dress pants, then apparently you don’t work in one of the hipper venues. If you did, you’d see sweatpants being worn with a suit jacket, tie, dress shoes … the whole nine yards.
According to Business Insider, tapered sweatpants, called jogger pants, were all the rage last year. But it was not until recently that the fashion statement began to heard in the workplace. Not every man wears the thigh-hugging sweats with a tie. The more liberated man will also show up at the office wearing sneakers and a t-shirt. Kind of takes the mystique out of dress down Fridays.
These sweats don’t come cheaply either. The three pairs in the photo below range (from left to right) from $98 to $330 to $1,425.
The rightmost pair, by Italian design house Loro Piana, are a silk and cashmere blend, which may explain the price. Just don’t wear to the gym after work.
