Gunshots have been reported at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, WDSU-TV in Louisiana has reported.
ABC News says it has been told by a representative for the sheriff’s office that someone has been shot about 8 p.m.
Farah Stockman, a columnist and editorial writer at the Boston Globe who was at the airport, said on Twitter that a man had cut two people with a knife. It appears that man may have been shot by security agents.
Lockdown procedures were enacted at the airport to prevent anyone from leaving.
No details were available about who might have been hurt in the incident or what their conditions were.
