Colorado: Pregnant woman’s baby cut from her womb when she responded to Craigslist ad

A woman looking to buy baby clothes became the victim in horrendous attack.

Police say the pregnant victim went to a home in Longmont to meet with someone selling baby clothes on Craigslist.

“When she got [to the home], she got assaulted and was stabbed and her baby was removed,” Cmdr. Jeff Satur of the Longmont Police Department said.

The suspect cut the unborn child out of the mother’s womb and fled the home, leaving the woman screaming for help. Police were called to the house on Green Place on reports of a stabbing, but didn’t know how gruesome the attack was until they got there. …

The victim was rushed to Longmont United Hospital where she underwent surgery. She is expected to survive. …

At the same time the victim was being tended to, a 34-year-old woman arrived at the same hospital with a deceased infant and claimed to have had a miscarriage. Police say the child she was carrying was the one stolen from the victim. She was immediately taken into custody. She was identified Thursday morning as Dynel Lane.
