[Ed. – Shucks!]
It’s looking less and less likely that Vice President Joe Biden will run for president.
Biden, as the Hill reports, has made sure to keep the door open for a possible 2016 run. But many observers, including those sympathetic to Biden, fear that a race against Hillary Clinton would be fruitless at best and humiliating at worst for the famously proud Biden. Clinton appears increasingly certain to run in 2016, and observers see little evidence Biden would win the Democratic nomination if Clinton is also a candidate. Biden has run twice before, in 1988 and 2008.
Clinton, worse off: While Hillary Clinton may be the Democrats’ front-runner for the nomination, she tops a National Journal list of possible White House contenders considered worse off as 2014 draws to a close. “As Clinton shook the rust off and reentered the political fray this year, her favorability rating came back down to earth,” the National Journal piece says. What’s more, the former secretary of state hasn’t clearly outlined the basis for her expected campaign. But she’ll have plenty of time to do that in 2015 if she decides to run.
