A New York City middle school teacher left her own children home alone so she could meet up with her husband for a wild night on the town. Laura Aguero, 35, of Sunset Park is charged with endangering the welfare of a child after she left her 12-year-old and 4-year-old home by themselves so she could get tattoos and get boozed up. New York Daily News reports that this all took place Wednesday night.
A neighbor called police after hearing something break in the apartment. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 12-year-old and 4-year-old unsupervised. Aguero and her husband, Alfredo Bobe, 41, arrived back home around 4 a.m. Thursday, according to police. They were arrested, with Aguero being charged with child endangerment and Bobe with criminal mischief and acting in a manner injurious to a child, the report states.
Department of Education spokeswoman Devora Kaye says Laura Aguero teaches at Middle School 88 in Sunset Park and has been a city teacher since 2004.
