Teddy Bear Paradise, formerly known as Denise O’Neal, has been ordered to federal prison following her conviction of making a threat against President Obama, U.S. Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Gray Miller, who accepted the guilty plea, handed the 56-year-old woman a 21-month sentence to be immediately followed by three years of supervised release.
Paradise pleaded guilty on Aug. 15. At the time of her guilty plea, Paradise admitted to mailing a letter to President Obama in which she told him that she was coming to Washington D.C. to murder him. She also admitted to telling two Secret Service agents of her intention to kill the President, but noting that if she could not kill him, she would find someone else to kill.
Paradise will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.
