Dying patient’s final wish comes true, reunited with beloved horse one last time

This is the beautiful moment a dying hospital patient’s final wish comes true – to see her favourite horse one last time.

The moving photograph shows the horse, called Bronwen, gently nuzzling up against her owner, gran-of-four Sheila Marsh, who is lying in her hospital bed.

Mrs Marsh sadly passed away just hours later after a fight against cancer.

But her grateful family said the loving meeting gave her comfort and thanked hospital bosses in Wigan for their care and consideration.

 

They arranged for show horse Bronwen to be transported to Wigan Royal Infirmary after Mrs Marsh’s condition deteriorated. She was 77.

Her daughter Tina Marsh, 33, said her mum’s hospital bed was wheeled outside for the meeting. She said: “I was crying my eyes out and all the nurses were crying too. She took comfort out of it and it was a beautiful moment.”
