Tom Brokaw halts MSNBC’s live midterm coverage to answer breaking grocery alert

Nobody likes to shop for groceries after a long day’s work, but NBC’s Tom Brokaw has the secret — do it while on live television.

While appearing on MSNBC’s live midterm election coverage, Brokaw’s phone went off. For those looking for a new ring, Brokaw might start a trend: His ring is a loud repeated thud akin to a factory alarm going off when something goes wrong.

“Yes, I will bring home the milk… don’t worry about it,” Brokaw said as Rachel Maddow laughed uncontrollably.

“And I’ll feed the dog in the morning, it’s going to be OK. Just sleep in,” he concluded to the mystery person on the other line.
