Have you ever wondered what human flesh tastes like but don’t have the stomach to, you know, eat someone? Well wonder no more! According to reports today a British chef is offering the tasty treat in preparation for the premier of Walking Dead next Sunday.
Jim Thomlinson is a chef who creates unique dishes for special events. Fox International Channels contacted him and asked him to create one for them in preparation for the show’s premiere, and it’s a request that he took seriously.
He studied up on the subject, going so far as to read a book byWilliam Seabrook titled Jungle Ways. Seabrook had apparently requested some human bits from medical students in order to see what they taste like. Thomlinson also studied up on cannibal serial killers to see what they had to say about the flavor.
So what does human flesh taste like? According to Seabrook “It was like good, fully developed veal; not young, but not yet beef. It was very definitely like that, and it was not like any other meat I had ever tasted.” Serial killer Issei Sagawa offers a different take, likening it to raw tuna in a sushi restaurant that melted in his mouth.
