It’s been five days since comedian Joan Rivers was rushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing during a minor procedure, and there are conflicting accounts of what’s going on with the sharp-tongued TV host.
E! News, which is a division of the E! channel Rivers works for, published a report on Monday claiming that the 81-year-old is on the “road to recovery.” But celebrity gossip site TMZ’s most recent story from Saturday reports that Rivers is on life support and “completely reliant” on machines to stay alive.
Meanwhile, her daughter, Melissa, has kept quiet on the details of her mother’s condition over the past few days, only saying, “We are keeping our fingers crossed.”
Rivers’ network, E!, has been tight-lipped about her condition, but they told FOX411 on Tuesday that filming had been suspended on the series Rivers’ co-hosts, “Fashion Police.”
“We will not be producing a ‘Fashion Police’ this week or next as we await Joan and Melissa’s return in front and behind the camera. E! will be airing two ‘E! From Fashion Week’ specials that will deliver the latest news and information from the highly-anticipated event.”
Rivers’ “Fashion Police” co-stars have not said much about the events of the past several days, aside from tweeting their support and asking fans to pray.
