A majority of Americans disapprove of the way President Obama has handled the recent influx of child illegal immigrants, according to a new Pew Research poll.
Only 28 percent of respondents said they approved of the president’s approach to the issue, while 56 percent disapproved.
According to Pew:
That is one of the lowest ratings for his handling of any issue since he became president. But Obama’s overall job rating is virtually unchanged from April: 44 percent approve of his job performance while 49 percent disapprove. […]
The latest national survey by the Pew Research Center, conducted July 8-14 among 1,805 adults, finds that about half (53 percent) think that the legal process for dealing with Central American children who cross the border illegally should be accelerated, even if that means that some children who are eligible for asylum are deported.
