[Ed. – Facts? What are facts?]
On Monday, Media Matters‘ Eric Boehlert issued a tweet claiming the Kansas Jewish Community Center shootings are the result of what he called homegrown right-wing terrorism. The tweet sparked outrage from a number of people, some of whom pointed out that the alleged shooter actually ran for office as a Democrat.
“Tragic: looks like more RW, home-grown terrorism in US,” he tweeted. The message was met with instant condemnation.
“[E]xcept for his running for office as a Democrat you are correct,” one person said. Another told Bohlert that Frazier Glenn Miller, the 73-year-old Aurora, Mo., man arrested in the shootings ran as a Democrat twice.
According to reports, Miller ran for Congress in 2006, but, the Gateway Pundit noted, none of the major political parties accepted his filing fees. He was ultimately listed as an Independent. In 2010, he attempted a run for the U.S. Senate from Missouri as a write-in candidate. A post at the conservative blog Jammie Wearing Fools observed that Miller once ran as a Republican.
