Harsh: FL HOA orders tenant to remove pink cancer ribbon – INSIDE home

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – She won the fight of her life against breast cancer, now a Southwest Florida woman is fighting with her home owner’s association over her pink ribbon display.

“I’m not offending anyone. My neighbors are all supportive of breast cancer. I don’t know why they’re not,” said Linda Karp.

Karp won her fight against breast cancer 16 years ago. The home owner’s association at Regent Park in Naples, where Karp has been renting a villa for the past three years, says she is violating the rules by hanging her ribbon, which she says, is inside her entrance way.

The HOA representative didn’t want to go on camera but sent Fox 4 its association documents.

Under the “signs” section, the document states, “In order to maintain an attractive community no sign, advertisement or poster shall be exhibited displayed, inscribed, painted or affixed in, on or upon any part of the properties by an owner or occupant.”

One viewer hopes the association will leave her alone.

He said, “Stop this nit-picking about things. My goodness, we have a country to protect!”
