Irish convert to Islam sentenced in plot to assassinate Prince Harry

Born with the name Mark Townley in Northern Ireland’s County Down, the individual who now calls himself Ashraf Islam was sentenced to yet another stint in one of Her Majesty’s Prison’s for his plot to murder Captain Harry Wales of the British Army, formally known as His Royal Highness Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales, as reported by Northern Ireland’s The Belfast Telegraph on Feb. 11, 2014 and The Mirror of London on June 4, 2013.

On the same day two Islamists murdered British soldier Lee Rigby on the streets of London, Townley was initially arrested by British authorities last May after he turned himself in as he lost his nerve.

Confessing he had plotted to disguise himself as a tourist, only when close enough he planned on stealing a firearm from one of Prince Harry’s bodyguards. It was then Townley admitted to his plot to shoot the fourth in line to the British Throne, stating Harry has “had blood on his hands” after serving two tours of duty in Afghanistan fighting both Taliban and al-Qaeda terrorists.

Harry’s first tour was as a forward battlefield air controller, second as an Apache attack helicopter pilot.

A prison convert to Islam and the recipient of a new three-year stint in prison, Townley has a long history of involvement with police stemming from his days of being a petty con man in his native Northern Ireland.

Reportedly, the would-be killer claimed to have been diagnosed psychologically as “having traits of narcissistic personality disorder.” Clinically, narcissists are “excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy power, prestige and vanity.”

He said at the time:

I use it to my advantage. Jesus Christ himself was the greatest narcissist ever documented.

I was assessed and told I had narcissistic traits. I use it as an asset, it gives me drive.
