White House Thanksgiving menu: Über-Pie-Palooza-Gate

michelle-obama-pies“A full-blown caloric surrender and collaboration that would make the French proud…”

Michelle Obama’s repeated admonitions to the American people to adopt a healthier lifestyle by eating more nutritious and less high-caloric junk food hasn’t stopped the First Family from ordering more dessert pies than main dishes at the White House Thanksgiving dinner, as reported by The New York Times on Nov. 28, 2013.

The First Lady, who has demonstrated time and again that she knows nothing about nutrition, has not relented for one minute in attempting to drum her Let’s Move! initiative into the public consciousness. Yet with the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, it looks as if the Family Obama isn’t just giving in to a temporary truce with gastronomic temptation but rather a full-blown caloric surrender and collaboration that would make the French proud.

A Fist Full of Pies…

Besides the usual turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, and the rest of the usual suspects on the First Family’s menu, there’s pies.

And more pies, then a few pies more.

As cited by The Times, nine varieties of the of the all-American sweet will be on the White House serving carts:

  • Huckleberry pie
  • Pecan pie
  • Chocolate cream pie
  • Sweet potato pie
  • Peach pie
  • Apple pie
  • Pumpkin pie
  • Banana cream pie
  • Coconut cream pie
