Apparently, the key to marital happiness is getting the woman to “calm down,” according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
“[A] study of hot marital fights indicates that when the wife calms down, the couples are more happy,” HHS Healthbeat’s Ira Dreyfuss said. “Happiness didn’t change if the husband calmed down quickly.”
HHS posted the summary of the study Tuesday, on International Men’s Day, as Ashe Schow observed.
Dreyfuss cited a study done by Lian Bloch at University of California, Berkeley. “The marriages that were the happiest were the ones in which the wives were able to calm down quickly during marital conflict,” Bloch said.
