Vice President Biden told Minnesota Democrats on Tuesday that if more Republicans complain about balancing the budget, he’d “strangle them.”
“We know how to create jobs,” he said at a fundraiser in St. Paul for Mark Dayton, who is running for governor. “And we know how to balance the budget.”
He continued, “If I hear one more Republican tell me about balancing the budget, I am going to strangle them.”
“To the press, that’s a figure of speech,” he added, according to the pool report.
Arguing that the Bush administration left office with a $1.3 trillion deficit, Biden said the last president to balance the budget was Bill Clinton.
