Santa Claus might be the most beloved man in the world — but he still gets called to jury duty.
The Long Islander whose legal name is Santa Claus was summoned to Suffolk County Criminal Court last week to perform his constitutionally mandated duty — and like most civic-minded Americans, he showed up, sans sleigh.
“When I got there, the police were like, ‘Am I on the naughty or nice list?’ ” Claus, 54, told The Post. “My reply was, ‘If you have to ask, you already know.’ ”
But Claus — a Copiague resident who changed his name from Frank Pascuzzi in February 2012 because of his annual gigs as the jolly old elf — had to put his list aside for most of the day, as well as take time off from his day job at a sprinkler company.
