The Madison man whose name attracted national attention last year after he was arrested here for possession of marijuana is facing drug charges in southeastern Iowa.
Beezow Doo-doo Zopittybop-bop-bop, 32, was arrested July 20 in Washington County and remains in the county jail, jailer Dennis Boecker said.
Beezow, as he is best known, was booked into the jail as Jeffrey D. Wilschke, the name on his driver’s license, even though he legally changed his name in 2011.
He is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and operation of a motor vehicle without registration, according to Boecker and Iowa court records.
Beezow gained unintentional fame after his January 2012 arrest for possession of pot in Madison’s Reynolds Park. His adopted name spread throughout the English-speaking world and became fodder for TV anchors and stand-up comedians.
