Soccer player ejected after throwing dog that strayed onto field

A lot of over-dramatic and awful things have happened on the soccer field over the years, but this one takes the cake.

A stray dog learned the hard way during a soccer match in Argentina that you apparently don’t interrupt lower-league player Enzo Jose Jimenez.

And what, exactly, did the Bella Vista player do about the match interruption? He picked the dog up by its neck and hurled it off the field, right into a fence.

“Jimenez was confronted by players from the other team, and fans hurled objects onto the pitch,”Deadspin’s Barry Petchesky writes. “He received a red card and was ejected from the game, probably for his own safety.”

We take heart knowing Jimenez’s actions would have been met with similar condemnation in most parts of the world.
