The game’s board features locations from the first five-and-a-half seasons of the TV show about an unlikely drug dealer, including ‘DEA Office’, ‘Strip Club’ and ‘The Meth Lab’. The traditional Monopoly “Chance” cards are replaced with so-called “Bell Cards”, while the usual “Community Chest” cards become “Heisenberg Cards”.
Fans can download and print the Breaking Bad-themed board and cards from www.methopoly.com and play the game using regular Monopoly money, houses and hotels. The game’s creator says fans could use their own playing pieces too, such as using a lump of blue rock candy to imitate a chunk of meth.
Methopoly was devised by a Breaking Bad fan called Joanne Silverman, who was inspired by Lost-themed Monopoly game called Lostopoly that appeared online in 2008. “When season five of Breaking Bad began, I knew I would design my own board and call it Methopoly. I wanted to learn Photoshop and knew this would be the perfect project,” she explains on the website.
