Copyright law has become a farce since the emergence of the great wave of laws extending it farther and farther into the future because companies don&#039;t want their early works to fall into the public domain.  (If I remember right, the first big copyright extension law is informally calledthe  Mickey Mouse law because it had the backing of Disney because Disney didn&#039;t want the cartoon Steamboat Willie and others of that era out of its control.)]]></description>
